Day Three - Non-Skid Deck Paint

I returned to the marina for the third day of work on the Hewes only to find that the all of the boat's surfaces were soaking wet from the fog that had settled in overnight and the ensuing morning dew. Before I could do any painting, I had to to towel off all surfaces and let things dry. While the surfaces were drying, I installed the GPS, rod racks, and filled the speaker holes with deck plates. By mid-day, the surfaces were nice and dry.
I had bought two quarts of Petit's EZ Decks, a polyurethane enamel that has granules mixed in to create a non-skid surface. Now I had to decide whether to brush it on or roll it on. I had sought out advice from the marina's guru who strongly recommended rolling it on. That meant a trip to Lowe's for 4" and 6" paint roller frames and foam rollers before going to the marina.

I mixed up a batch of the EZ Decks paint using 16 ounces of paint and 1 1/2 ounces of brushing thinner. After stirring well and during the mixture into a roller tray, the concoction was rolled on the bow, gunwales, and stern surfaces.
With those areas covered, I mixed up another batch of the EX Decks and rolled it on the deck floor.

All of the surfaces will get another coat of EZ Decks on the next trip to the marina. For now, the old girl is really starting to look like I pictured when I decided to undertake the project.
